Quinoa Quality's products are grown worldwide
Quinoa originates from the Andean region of South America, where it has been grown for 7000 years as one of the oldest cultivated plant species existing. Until recently quinoa was almost only grown in Bolivia and Peru, which still is producing the major part of the world market of quinoa, actually > 80%.
However, the number of countries producing quinoa is increasing rapidly, and more than 100 countries in the world have produced quinoa
commercially or at least tested the crop.
Varieties for growing outside South America with less daylength sensitivity have been developed, among those the Danish QQ varieties, which have been tested around the world, mainly in Europe and Asia, but also with success in Africa.
The map shows the specific countries where the QQ varieties have been grown.
